Jenker's Driver's Education Program

Well guys and gals, looks like Jenker has been putting his teaching certificate to good use. Seems as though he is letting a 10 year old boy from here in town drive his pickup on city streets around town!

Wonder what is up with that?

A 10 year-old boy driving the mayor around town... Isn't that illegal????

Wonder if the 10 year old is Jenker's designated driver, or if it is Driver's Ed Jenker Style!

Can we say ILLEGAL here? (And don't think you can get away with saying it ain't true Jenker, everyone has seen it).

Lets see here. Was this posted on a city computer by a city employee on city time? Just a shot in the dark there, partner.

Well, to start out with- in case you are not already familar with the law, let me educate you some, if you don't mind. AND YES, the law applies, even in BARDWELL, although some laws are enforced here and others are not.

I suggest learning when you can "REACH THE PEDDLE", and doing it LEGALLY. And I am not a BOY. Learn how to spell- its suggests, not suggets. The only thing BIG in this situation are the BIG violations of the law that are taking place.

§ 729.002. OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE BY MINOR WITHOUT
LICENSE. (a) A person who is younger than 17 years of age commits
an offense if the person operates a motor vehicle without a driver's
license authorizing the operation of a motor vehicle on a:
(1) public road or highway;
(2) street or alley in a municipality; or
(3) public beach as defined by Section 729.001.
(b) An offense under this section is punishable in the same
manner as if the person was 17 years of age or older and operated a
motor vehicle without a license as described by Subsection (a),
except that an offense under this section is not punishable by
confinement or imprisonment.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995. Amended
by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 1086, § 43, eff. Sept. 1, 1997; Acts
1999, 76th Leg., ch. 1477, § 37, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.

I suggest you learn how to spell, learn the law, and get a life. And yes, the law applies to everyone, including you and everyone else in this town, even if it is only enforced against certain people.
